THE BURMA-AMERICA BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION IS PRIMARILY A MONASTERY WHERE THE BURMESE-AMERICAN BUDDHISTS COMMUNITY FROM THE GREATER WASHINGTON DC METRO AREA COME TO PARTICIPATE IN WORSHIP MEDITATION FESTIVALS AND OTHER HOLY FUNCTIONS.
Burma-America Buddhist Association Inc., provides the resident Sayadaws (Monks) with four requisites (Food, Clothing, Shelter, Medicine).
The resident Sayadaws provide year round religious activities, including regular Dhamma meetings and meditation sessions.
The Board of directors manage the association's funds under the guidance of Sayadaws and are spent on:
1) The four requisites of the Sayadaws and on religious ceremonies
2) Monthly utility bills
3) Maintenance of three buildings
4) Maintenance of the yard as well as storm water drainage system in accordance with
the Montgomery county code
